Starting at the Cherohala Skyway Visitor Center you will find wide sweeping turns that allow views of the valleys of North Carolina and Tennessee. Picking up the historic Hwy 129 you will visit Deals Gap and the Home of the Dragon and the “Tree of Shame”, 11 miles and 318 turns later you will pickup the Foothills Parkway. This section has ample turnouts for breaks and photo opportunities. The Foothills Parkway will drop you in Wears Valley before bringing you into Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. From here spend some time and visit Gatlinburg, Sevierville and Knoxville, Tennessee

Adam knows what he is talking about! The Tail of the Dragon is great for tight curves and banks and is a “right of passage” for motorcyclists. But the Cherohala Skyway is a beautiful ride with spectacular views!!! I rode it one day but would love to stay for a few days and take it all in. Lots to do from water activities to hiking.
