US 191 Alpine Arizona

I did this ride in May 2021 with my son and two brothers. We left Eager, AZ at 7:00am heading south. Between Eager and Alpine we saw a lot of elk. South of Alpine we saw a lot of mule deer. Keep your eyes pealed and watch your speed around blind conners. The decent is very tight with hairpin turns, blind conners, shear drop offs on one side with no guard rails, and trees and rock faces on the other.. At the bottom of the decent you ride through a large strip mining operation.. It is a very interesting ride and I would highly recommend it for advanced riders. I would not recommend it for speed enthusiasts.

That’s me and my buds in the picture. We did this route in April of 2019 going north to Alpine. Quite amazing… from the views to the incredible numbers or twists and turns. Watch out for big critters like Elk and a little gravel in some of the turns from cagers hugging the shoulders! Also, it can be a little cool in the morning (25 F) when we headed out from Alpine so a few layers are recommended. We are going to do this route going south in April so more pics to come. Highly recommended advanced skill level road!
